I’m Alex Rawnsley, a sportscaster currently living in Powell River, British Columbia.

“The Broadcaster Hub”, or as it’s now called “Sportscaster Life” began in 2012 as a personal vault of sports broadcasting materials, downloads and articles that I found useful as I began my career as a sportscaster, first as a volunteer in Prince George, then as a professional on the Sunshine Coast with the BCHL’s Powell River Kings, who I joined in 2011. Throughout the course of that first season with Powell River, I found myself constantly searching for information and often the same type of information. I discovered that it was not easy to find, and what information was available was often quite limited.

As I had some experience with web design and building websites for small businesses in Prince George, I decided to pair two hobbies and create a resource for the information and downloads I had collected and referenced over the years. It has grown into a personal diary of experiences and thoughts on the sports broadcasting industry.

Sportscaster Life has emerged from ‘The Hub’ and is designed to share my experiences as a sportscaster as I grow my career. My career has developed to include radio, establishing a 24 hour online broadcast network, producing video highlight reels, hosting numerous events and increasing the profile of the team overall through social media.
