The future voice of the LA Dodgers, and the man to replace the irreplaceable Vin Scully is Joe Davis.
Announced late 2015, Davis will begin his career with the Dodgers calling select road games for the club as Scully transitions out of a position he’s held for the bulk of his life. He leaves behind a great legacy not only in baseball, but in all of sports broadcasting and will be sorely missed.
Fox Sports hosts Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole had Davis on their December 10th’s edition of the Jay and Dan Podcast. It’s a fascinating interview on how he got started, how he got told he was hired by no less than Scully himself, and what he’s doing to prepare to step into one of sports broadcastings most iconic positions.
